This year, the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority (MEKH) organized for the sixth time its highly popular nationwide educational program, the Night of Power Plants.
Veolia Energia Magyarország Zrt. has been an active participant in the event from the very beginning and joined again this year with several sites, opening its doors to visitors. In addition to the power plants in Debrecen, Ajka, Dorog, and Pécs—locations that had participated before—the Újpest Power Plant, the Oroszlány Power Plant, and the Szeged Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant operated by Szegedi Vízmű Zrt. took part in the program for the first time.
As part of the event, held on October 17th, Veolia alone welcomed more than 500 visitors, who were able to gain insight into how energy generation, district heating, and public utility services operate, and learn about the technological and professional background of the power plants. All of this contributes to greater transparency in the energy sector and helps dispel certain misconceptions.
By joining the program, Veolia aims to raise awareness to the conscious use of energy and resources. Sustainability and energy efficiency are everyone’s concern and a guarantee of our shared future.
