Veolia Hungary has won the concession to operate the district heat production and supply system for the city of Hajdúböszörmény. The 25-year concession contract was signed on December 29, 2025, and the service is expected to start on July 1, 2026.
According to the contract, Veolia will establish a wholly-owned concession company within 90 days of signing to carry out the task. Under the concession, the company will be responsible for the comprehensive operation of the district heating production and supply system in the city of Hajdúböszörmény.
The system provides heating for a total of 210 apartments and two separately managed institutions. The amount of heat sold annually reaches 6,094.3 GJ. Heat production is carried out using natural gas-fired equipment with a total nominal heat output of 1.17 MW.
Winning the concession fits well with Veolia's long-term objectives, which focus on providing reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy solutions, as well as strengthening cooperation with municipal and residential partners.
