Attendees had the opportunity to meet the young creators and their mentors in person and gain insight into the process behind the creation of each artwork. The unique atmosphere of the event was not only reflected in the originality of the young artists' pieces but also in the personal stories behind the works, brought to life with the support of their mentors. Beyond celebrating art and discovering talent, the event served as a platform for building a community dedicated to making a real difference through support and collaboration.
Launched in 2021, Veolia’s “Talent Deserves a Chance” program provided over 20 children living in state care, many of whom face multiple disadvantages, with the opportunity to explore their talents through art in its 2023-2024 season. The program also aimed to instill values like commitment and perseverance, essential for achieving success in life. As in previous years, this season concluded with an auction showcasing and selling unique artworks created by the participating children.
Held at the Budapest Art Factory, the auction featured 33 pieces by 18 children, each starting with a uniform opening bid of 50,000 HUF. A group of 20-25 patrons collectively raised 2,270,000 HUF for the exhibited artworks, directly supporting the children’s futures and helping them achieve their goals. Proceeds from the sold artworks were deposited into the personal or guardian accounts of the young artists, where they can be freely used in the future.
Most children plan to use the funds from their artworks to further their education and develop their skills, making every bid an investment in their brighter, more secure future.
The charity auction was more than just a closing event; it was a significant milestone. Through their creations, the participants experienced the power of recognition and support, an inspiring moment that could positively influence their entire future. Veolia’s “Talent Deserves a Chance” program has once again brought hope and confidence to young lives, demonstrating how the intersection of talent and opportunity can drive meaningful change.
