Cogeneration

Veolia strives to use state-of-the-art technical solutions in all its contracts. Cogeneration means the simultaneous production of heat, electricity, and cooling energy to flexibly meet the needs of different users. Cogeneration or trigeneration helps to achieve the economic optimum of the facility being operated, and can be equipped with a gas engine, gas turbine and absorption cooler. The combined production of heat and electricity provides the partners with high efficiency and low costs, but at the same time, correct sizing adapted to system requirements is very important for this. Veolia uses cogeneration in 10 of its nationally dominant large-scale power plants and operates a total of 49 gas engines across the country.
